WORKSHOP TO HELP UNEMPLOYED DISCOVER ENTREPRENEURISM
Start Up Now Provides Displaced Workers a Chance to Start Their Own Businesses

Phoenix, Ariz. – June 16, 2010 – Displaced, laid off and unemployed people in the Phoenix area now have the chance to discover entrepreneurism and start their own businesses. Start Up Now (SUN), an organization that helps people form a business with other entrepreneurs will hold its next interactive one-day workshop on Saturday, June 26 at the Club Entrepreneur Office at 9 a.m.
SUN cuts through the confusion and clutter of business start-ups to get to the essence of business formation and the transition of that business from startup to revenue generation as quickly and efficiently as possible. Since March 2009, SUN has conducted 17 workshops, 15 of which successfully formed a new business. This will be the first SUN workshop of 2010.
"We have a lot more to offer to people who go through the Start Up Now workshop,” said Peter J. Burrns, III, founder of Club Entrepreneur. “I want anyone who is out of work, who is looking for a new start or who knows someone who is out of work to come and see our Start Up Now workshop process."
Each workshop hosts up to 15 people, tapping into their experience and expertise to formulate a list of business ideas. The group then selects one idea, develops the proposed operations of the company and creates a plan to implement the idea. Interested SUN participants are then given the ability to make a business together as equal partners in the proposed company.
"I did not know what was going to come out of it, but I knew it was going to be good,” said Gabriela Cojanu, a SUN participant. “SUN brings people together with the desire to build and create, and that is the most powerful force in the universe. SUN gives you the format and the tools to connect with people and 'go forth' and make it happen."
